Since 2014 the Cleveland Cavaliers have been to The NBA Finals every season, and won once. This season they are without their former floor general, LeBron James, but could still go far in the East.
It goes without saying that teams such as the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and even the Milwaukee Bucks are favorites for the top five spots, but the remaining three are up for grabs and Cavs could surprise many a fan and claim one in the postseason.
There has been a change of leadership on the squad with 10-year veteran Kevin Love taking the reins. An experienced power forward, he honed his craft at the Minnesota Timberwolves before joining Cleveland in 2014.
He was part of the Cavaliers’ big three alongside James and Kyrie Irving when the team won a championship in 2016 and has continued to be instrumental in the team’s success.
Besides James’ departure to sunny California in the offseason, the core of the team that made it to last season’s NBA Finals relatively remains the same.
Love continues as the squad’s starting power forward, solid in the paint and shooting well from the field. He averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last season and started all of the 80 games which he played.
